Capital Enterprise enables entrepreneurship in the Capital by supporting our member organisations to initiate, develop, promote and deliver services that directly help business formation and small business growth in London.
Capital Enterprise is the membership body for providers of enterprise support services in London. We exist to support entrepreneurs and businesses in London. We are a not-for profit organisation owned by, and run for the benefit of, members. Capital Enterprise and its members provide a wide range of support services including advice, training, mentoring, accelerator programmes, specialist technical expertise, networking, soft loan finance and incubator accommodation to both pre-start and trading entrepreneurs and small businesses in all 33 London Boroughs. Capital Enterprise is funded through members subscriptions, third party sponsorship and by income received from public/private sector partners to develop, pilot and manage innovative programmes that support enterprises and entrepreneurs in London.
What we offer our members
Capital Enterprise provides opportunities for members to network with each other, with clients and with potential sponsors and funders. We run over 20 events per year, a members slack group and a weekly newsletter to help members share information, insights and build alliances.
We are always on the look out for new funding or partnership opportunities for members from both public and private sources. We will also advice members on how to develop new services or revamp existing offers so that they are more in tune with present market forces.
Supports members to bid for contracts
We actively support members to individually bid for contracts or to come together to bid for work. We help develop programmes and the bids, edit the proposals and give our support in writing to members bids. For an additional fee we will also write the bids for members.
Funds members operational costs
When it is necessary to have an independent, neutral and expert project management tean to lead a consortium bid, Capital Enterprise will step up to the plate. In the past 2 years we have bid for, led and managed primarily EU co-funded projects worth in excess of £2m and going forward we have projects in the pipeline for 2016-19 worth over £4m. Over 90% of the value of these contracts are paid out to members. In 2015-16 we co-funded the salaries of over 60 members of staff for the 22 members of Capital Enterprise who participated in delivering the project. Only members of Capital Enterprise get this opportunity.
Builds out the London Start-up Eco-System
The are occasions when someone needs to step up to develop and deliver something that will benefit the whole of London’s start-up Eco-System. This was the case with London Co-Investment Fund co-founded and co-managed by Capital Enterprise (alongside Funding London) to invest in early stage tech businesses that are nurtured by our members.
Added Value Services for Clients
With services such as Capital List “Green Light” Programme we leverage our expertise to provide additional advice and investor introductory services to members present and potential clients.
