Capital Enterprise is the membership body for deliverers of enterprise support services in London. It facilitates entrepreneurship via its 50+ (current) member organisations and through the development of new and innovative pan-London programmes. Our members provide support services to both pre-start and trading entrepreneurs and small business in all 33 London Boroughs and include:
- 15 London Universities/ HEI’s – Including University College London and UEL.
- 14 Enterprise Agencies /Chambers of Commerce/ Small Business Clubs
- 4 FE Colleges- Including Newham College & Westminster Kingsway.
- 10 Charities/ Social Enterprises- Including Bright Ideas Trust and “The Princes Trust” who focus on helping young people to become entrepreneurs.
- 6 Private Sector Companies who deliver publicly funded enterprise support programmes in London including TNG –In Biz
- 2 Public Bodies- British Library & City Business Library
Capital Enterprise members provide a full range of advice, training, trouble-shooting consultancy, specialist technical expertise and networking services to London’s new entrepreneurs and small businesses including the provision of soft loan finance and incubator accommodation. In 2010 Capital Enterprise members helped to start 2000 new businesses and provided a support service to over 20,000 small London based businesses.
Capital Enterprise provides on behalf of its members the following:
- Representation and Advocacy of members interest to authorities, funding bodies and wider community of interest.
- Support and expertise to develop new service offers.
- Fundraising and support with development of tenders and bids for public funded or corporate sponsored programmes.
- Networking and Partnership Facilitation.
- Market Intelligence.
- Capacity building Support including provision of training workshops.
