Open Innovation allow organisation to look beyond their internal resources to develop new product, services and sources of revenue.
The aim of the Open Innovation Project – a three year, multi-million euro initiatives – is to promote understanding and implement of these principles by entrepreneurs, businesses, higher education intuitions, and communities throughout north-west Europe.
Capital Enterprise is a partner on the London delivery team of the Open Innovation Project along with UCL, British Library and Meganexus. Capital Enterprise role is to work with its members to develop and pilot Business Bootcamps for start-up and early stage businesses that enable and support the new business to enter into meaningful open innovation collaborations and partnerships with the leading companies and Universities in their sector. We hope that the new collaborations and partnerships established will enable participating new businesses to overcome the R&D, access to market and cost barriers that may be preventing them starting a successful high growth business.
From 2011-13, the partners on the Open Innovation Project will deliver a programme of similar activities to stimulate the Open Innovation in new businesses across the UK, France, Germany, Ireland and Belgium.

The Open Innovation Project is funded by the Interreg IVB North-West Europe Programme.
