The National Council of Graduate Entrepreneurship and Capital Enterprise University members are to launch next month a new programme of support called “Make It Happen” that will help unemployed graduates to go self-employed or start a business.
There are plans to have 10 one-day event at London universities that will provide unemployed graduates with a wide range of employment support options including 12 month courses for self employment and starting a business. The government’s internship programmes and all options locally and nationally for 09 graduates will be promoted at the events.
From these one day “Rallies” the graduates will be eligible to apply for the Self Employment Programme or the Business Start-up Programme run by the NCGE which will also be run out of the university and will take place approximately 4-6 weeks later. These are 12 month programmes which start with a 1 day and 2 day programme respectively plus 12 months of support and mentoring.
NCGE are offering to pay Capital Enterprise University members for all costs associated with the “Make it Happen” ralies including speakers, materials, mentoring, food and expenses. The university will only be asked to provide the venue and help with some marketing to their own students. NCGE will also work with the university to make sure all options for their graduates are clear and tangible.
Capital Enterprise will post later this month a full schedule of events held by its University members such as UCL, UEL and University of Westminster. If you want to get involved, please let me know.
