These are not-for-profit organisation that provide free business advice, mentor support, soft loans and/or subsidised accommodation to start-ups and growth companies.

Students and alumni can obtain a full range of business support services whilst London SME’s have opportunities to receive support to innovate or to collaborate on R&D projects or to receive a student intern.

There are predominately charities that help the young, unemployed or disabled or the “short of cash” to go self-employed or start a business.

Regrettably few London councils are presently directly supporting SME’s and entrepreneurs. Those who do are members of Capital Enterprise.

A great place to find the latest business and research data as well as a place to go and hear talks from some of London leading entrepreneurs and business experts.

These are members who either directly invest or lend to potential high growth companies or through an intensive support programmes help entrepreneurs reach a stage where they are able to raise up to £250K from seed investors.
