East London Small Business Centre provides a range of loan funds to help London’s startup and existing small businesses thrive. Whether you have been unable to get a loan from mainstream banks, have poor credit history or are simply looking for a business loan with affordable payment terms, they are here to help.
Fair Finance provides Fair Business Loans of between £2,000 and £20,000 to businesses that are based in London and have been trading for a minimum of 12 months.

Hackney Business Venture
Hackney Business Venture is a centre of excellence for raising business finance. They offer “Start Up Loans Company” Loans for companies looking for up to £10,000 loan finance to get started or grow during their first year of trading. Companies have to be based in Hackney, Haringey, Islington, City of London or Tower Hamlets.
They also provide HBV Loan Funds for businesses registered for support with HBV and based in Hackney. Typically, their loans are more than the average £5,000 available under the Government Start Up Loans scheme.
Lastly, they provide a ‘Access to Finance’ Service especially suited to start up trading businesses looking to raise finance and who need more than £10,000 of finance.
London Business Angels
London Business Angels is one of Europe’s leading Angel Investment Networks, connecting innovative and fast-growing technology companies to equity finance through its membership of experienced angel investors. Since 2000 LBA has helped over 200 companies successfully raise over £50 million. LBA has been delivering the Angels in the City (www.angelsinthecity.org.uk) programme in conjunction with core partner The City of London Corporation since 2011, with Lloyds Bank adding further support since April 2013. The programme aims to increase the awareness of individuals in the square mile to bring their financial capacity and experience to invest in innovative London based entrepreneurs.
London Community Finance
London Community Finance is currently home to three distinct businesses each offering a different service: Start-up Loans London, London Enterprise Club and North London Credit Union.
Star-up Loans London is part of the government backed start-up loans scheme which is designed to help people start their own business. London Enterprise Club is an association for local businesses in London and used to help people with netowrking and learning new skills at regular events throughout the region. Lastly, the North London Credit Union is a financial co-operative existing to help its members save and borrow money at a competitive rates.
